What is the history of ISKCON ? 

This is an old organization. There is a lot of confusion in the society that this organization is a foreign organization, in fact, it is a thousand years old,  known as the   Hare Krishna movement, is a Gaudiya Vaishnava  religious organization that came from Lord Shri Krishna in ISKCON Sanatan Dharma. ISKCON is a branch of it.


ISKCON was founded by Sri Krishna Kripamurti Sri Abhayacharan  Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada  in New York City in 1966 to promote Krishna Bhakti , Srila Prabhupada was instructed by his Guru in 1922 that since he was literate and knew  well English , he was told to preach Krishna Bhakti in Western countries. Another instruction was that when Guru Srila Prabhupada became very wealthy, he should publish and distribute the Koryo Baisnava Granth Sahitya all over the world .


Srila Prabhupada, at that time was known to Abhay Charan Dev. He was the closest person to Gandhiji during the struggle for independence of India. On the orders of Gandhiji, he helped the movement of the country and later he was ready to sacrifice his life for the good of all mankind.


At the age of 55, Srila Prabhupada preached Krsna Bhakti all over the world after retiring from household life. In the year 1969, after many attempts, he reached America after 36 days of difficult journey by a cargo ship named Jaldut, he did not know whether to go right or left. He  had two heart attacks during the journey, but Krishna was there The purpose of preaching devotion was strong. He wrote in his diary that O Lord Krishna, we do not know what is inside your heart.


When was established the ISKCON in New Your city ?

At the age of 70, after one year of struggle, Srila Prabhupada filed an application for the establishment of ISKCON in New York City, USA. ISKCON was established on 13 July 1966. At the time of its establishment, Srila Prabhupada had only a small number of  devotees, but he had the foresight to experience that ISKCON would become a world-wide organization. 


The  devotees, people who were hated by the society, joined this organization. They were known as HIPPIES, they had no knowledge of Lord Krishna and they always indulged in adultery. Srila Prabhupada, a father, took the responsibility of taking care of such people and after explaining the knowledge of Bhagavad Gita, all the HIPPIES changed and became hippies. All the devotees started following celibacy completely and were fully enlightened in the worship .


A film was made in the year 1971, but ISKCON was wrongly propagated by this film because it focused more on the character of the devotee, but all the youths involved in it were 19 and 20 years old. According to the four pillars of Sanatan Dharma, he was going to do hard sadhana of compassion, asceticism, truth, and purity. 


Which Four regulative principle of ISKCON devotees  ?

In the character of the devotees, a pattern of chastity is prepared by abstaining from various activities such as ..

1)intoxication, 

2) illicit sex, 

3) meat eating,  

4) gambling. 

These are commonly known as the "four regulative principles."


What are the six enemies of our mind ?

1) Kama 

2) Krodha

3) Mada 

4) Moha

5) Bhaya 

6) Matsarya 

Are onion is prohibited in ISKCON?

Yes, it is onion is prohibited because onion and garlic are lower modes of Nature . 

What is ISKCON mantra?

The Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is made up of three words – Hare, Krishna, and Rama: Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Hare 


Even today all the devotees of ISKCON have been following this rule and fulfill a real purpose of life. Apart from this, every devotee regularly chants a fixed number of Hare Krishna's main mantras on the rosary.


When Srila Prabhupada went out to preach to the world with foreign Vaishnava devotees, people everywhere cheered this institution with great enthusiasm. In ten years from 1966 to 1977, 108 temples of this organization were built all over the world. Currently, 600 temples have been built in the world. Apart from this, Srila Prabhupada, temple of ISKCON provides food for everyone.


Together with the devotees of ISKCON, sustainable rural planning has been started in many cities of world . In various Gausala, cows are taken care of, fed and efforts are continuously being made to run Gurukul, as per the ancient tradition. Also, in the temple, people of different ages are engaged in the work of teaching their household life in the devotion of Shri Bhagavan, while fulfilling their social work and trying to live happily, peacefully and prosperously in their lives.


In the person who has taken this devotee, there is an example of a good ideal life in the society. Those who spend this life happily and peacefully, together with them, according to the scriptures, make life successful for the next life. What is history of ISKCON Temple Budhanilkantha Nepal  ?

Introduction :

Daily Rituals and Worship :

The ISKCON temple opens at 6 am and closes at 8:30 pm. There is a guest house, restaurant, green garden for the devotees in the precincts of this temple. 1 Km. Mr. There is an old Narayan temple in the distance.
