Canada has issued a travel advisory saying there is a threat of terrorism in India

India Issued

Canada has asked its citizens to exercise extreme caution while visiting India.

At a time when tensions are rising with India, Canada has issued a travel advisory, asking people to be careful when visiting due to the unexpected security situation.

In the travel advisory released on Tuesday, it is written, "There is a threat of terrorism, extremism, unrest and kidnapping in Jammu and Kashmir." Canada has also told its citizens not to go to Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and border areas of India with Pakistan.

Last Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Indian agents had killed Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a leader of the Sikh community in British Columbia, Canada, and tensions between the two countries have increased.

Canada has expelled a diplomat from India on this charge, while India has also instructed a Canadian diplomat to leave the country within five days.

India accused of involvement in killing of Sikh leader in Canada, Indian diplomat expelled

Canada has expelled an Indian diplomat accusing India of involvement in the killing of a Sikh leader.

Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, while addressing the Parliament on Monday, said that agents of the Indian government killed Sikh community leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia, Canada last June.

He also informed that he raised this issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G-20 meeting held in India on September 9 and 10.

Last June, Nijjar was shot dead near a Gurudwara in British Columbia, Canada.

Soon after, Canada's foreign minister, Melanie Joly, informed that the senior diplomat of India has been expelled. She did not give more information about that Indian diplomat. However, the expelled Indian diplomat is said to be India's intelligence chief in Canada.

CBC claims that it is Indian diplomat Pawan Kumar Rai who was expelled.

India has denied Canada's allegations. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has said, "It is ridiculous to accuse the Indian government of being involved in any kind of violence in Canada."

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has commented that the involvement of a foreign government in killing any citizen within Canada is a violation of the integrity of our country. He has also said that he will pressure India to investigate this murder.

It is said that there are more than 1.4 million citizens of Indian origin in Canada. Most of them belong to the Sikh community. In Canada, the leader of the opposition New Democratic Party is Jagmeet Singh from the Sikh community.
