There is a trend of keeping fish in aquariums in homes, offices, hotels and restaurants to make them look attractive. Keeping fish in an aquarium is not only a matter of beauty and decoration, now it has become a means of providing coolness and entertainment to the eyes.

Although many people want to keep fish in the aquarium, if they do not find the right method, it is causing disadvantages instead of advantages. Therefore, special attention should be paid to certain things while keeping fish in the aquarium.

Choice of Water

Since fish live in water, the first thing is to know how much and what kind of water to put in the aquarium. After buying the fish, do not immediately put the fish in clean tap water or water in a jar. The water in which the fish are kept should be conditioned a week before. For this, the heater and filter should be kept running during that period. It conditions the water for good bacteria.

Then you have to put the fish in the aquarium. Because water contains ammonia, which can make fish sick. To remove the chlorine in the water, one drop of antichlorine medicine can be put in four liters. In this way, the fish should be placed in the aquarium only after adjusting the measurements according to the need. As a result, the fish is healthy and fit.

Temperature

After adjusting the amount of water, the temperature should be adjusted accordingly. If the temperature is not right, the fish may die in a short time due to shock when put in the aquarium water or may even go into depression. Therefore, after buying fish from the store, do not put it in the water immediately. Therefore, before putting the fish in the water, the temperature of the water should be 25 to 28 degrees, this is the temperature that suits most of the fish.

The fish should not be placed in the aquarium immediately, before that the fish should be immersed in the aquarium with plastic water for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, keeping the fish in the aquarium water with the required temperature reduces the risk of fish dying.

For this, apart from two-three months of summer, the heater should be kept running round the clock. Water measuring kits are available in the market.

Filter

A filter is also necessary before raising fish. It adjusts the oxygen content of the water. It should be run round the clock. The size of the filter varies according to the fish and the aquarium.

Coarse salt

Before placing the fish in the aquarium, salt can be added to the water. It is advisable to add one spoonful of salt in 12-15 liters of water. It helps to increase the immunity of the fish. If the amount of salt in the water is kept, the risk of fish getting sick is zero. But iodized table salt should not be added, it will have a negative effect on the fish.

Choice of fish

There are two types of fish kept in aquariums, aggressive and non-aggressive. If the fish is an invasive species, it should be of the same species and if it is another species, only the same species should be kept. If both species of fish are mixed in the same aquarium, it is more likely that the fish will die due to fighting with each other.

Food

Food can be fed to the fish by adjusting the amount in the morning and in the evening. Once a week, you should not eat anything for the whole day. It improves their digestion process. Because another reason for fish to die is too much food. Because fish do not react to too much food, they continue to eat as much as they are fed. Therefore, the fish should be fed only the right amount of food.

Light

Lights should not be turned on 24 hours a day in the aquarium. This causes the water to turn blue. Therefore, it is suitable to light it only for 6 to 8 hours a day.

Aquarium cleaning

When keeping fish, special care should be taken in cleaning the aquarium. Do not change all the water at once. Because when you change the water completely, the good bacteria in the water will be destroyed. Also, the aquarium can be decorated with stones and artificial plants to give the fish a natural feel.

If you see white spots on the body of the fish, you should move it to another tank. By moving in this way, there is a risk of making other healthy fish sick.

Price

You can get fish from 100 rupees to keep in the aquarium. Fish worth up to 250,000 rupees can be found in the market. Nepal mostly imports fish from Thailand and India.
